MammaMIAcupcakes was founded by cake enthusiast, Mel Fauzi in a small kitchen in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia three years ago. A wife and a mother of one, Mel is passionate about all things cakes - from the rich buttery smell that emits from her baking oven to the pretty decorations to top her cakes with.
What started as Mother's Day gifts to her mother, Mel was inspired to take cupcake baking to the next level after receiving orders for birthday and office parties. She finds creating cupcakes a delicate art and idolises Rose Levy Beranbaum, whom she regards as the Greatest Cake Guru of all times.
Mel named her kitchen mammaMIA after her daughter, Mia Zahra whose toddler's creativity influences Mel's baking ideas to producing very personalised pieces of cupcakes.
